SUBJECT:      Recommended Changes to Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances, Regarding Human Resources Rules and Regulations

 

DATE:            June 26, 2006

 

 

PURPOSE

 

The purpose of this memorandum is to recommend changes to Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances, Human Resources Rules and Regulations.

 

DISCUSSION

 

The proposed changes are recommended to improve clarity, practices and policies guiding human resources management.

 

The proposed changes were reviewed and discussed by the Town’s department heads and made available to Town employees for comment. All comments and suggestions received were considered before the final proposal was prepared.

 

DISCUSSION

 

The attached summary lists of changes proposed in the revised ordinance with information on the reason for the change. The proposed changes would affect Articles II through X (10) of the Personnel Ordinance; revision of remaining chapters will presented for Council review for consideration later this year.

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

We recommend that the Council enact the attached ordinance.
