INTRODUCTION
Tonight, the Council holds a Public Hearing regarding an application from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, requesting approval of a Modification of a Development Plan for the central campus. The proposal includes the addition of approximately 1.2 million square feet of new floor area. The application does not include new parking spaces. The purpose of this cover memorandum is to forward the Town Manager’s recommendation for the application to the Council. Details are included in the attached memorandum.
MANAGER’S PRELIMINARY RECOMMEDATION
The Town Manager has reviewed and discussed the proposed application with Town staff. Based on the information in the record to date, we believe that the Council could make the findings required to approve the modification to the Development Plan. The Town Manager’s preliminary recommendation is that the Council adopt Resolution A, approving the application with conditions.
