Title of Agenda Item: Petition to Amend the Resolution Establishing the Sustainability Committee

Background:  The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the Sustainability Committee’s proposed amendments for the resolution which established the Committee.  The amendments pertain to the Committee’s interest in the explicit ability to report directly to the Council and make recommendations on new sustainability principles, plans and policies for the Council’s consideration.

Sustainability Committee Recommendation:  That the Council adopt the attached resolution to amend the resolution which established the Sustainability Committee.
