Title of Agenda Item: Approval of On-Street Parking Restrictions on Hamilton Road and Prestwick Road
Background: The attached memorandum provides background information on a request to restrict on-street parking on Hamilton Road and Prestwick Road to provide adequate vehicle travel lane widths for school buses and emergency vehicles at or near the intersection and along portions of both streets.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council enact the attached ordinance that would establish:
- No parking anytime within 50 feet of the Hamilton Road and Prestwick Road intersection
- No parking on both sides of Hamilton Road between Prestwick Road and Raleigh Road (NC 54), Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
- No parking on the north side of Prestwick Road from Hamilton Road to a point 275 feet westward, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm
