SUBJECT:      Approval of Changes to 2008-09 Engineering Department User Fee Schedule

DATE:            October 15, 2008

PURPOSE

The purpose of this report is to request that the Council approve minor changes to the 2008-09 Engineering Department User Fee Schedule.

We recommend adoption of the attached resolution.

BACKGROUND AND DISCUSSION

At its, June 9, 2008 meeting, the Council approved a fee schedule for Engineering Department. We are proposing following changes to the approved fee schedule to recover the cost of the Town services:

• Charging a $15.00 fee for Cemetery plot ownership transfer
• Charging a $10.00 fee for copy of a Cemetery section map
• Clarifying that a sidewalk closure permit is treated as lane closure permit for construction purposes and lane closure fees applied to a sidewalk closure permit

We believe that the proposed changes are relatively minor in amount and in the number of parties affected.

RECOMMENDATION

That the Council adopt the attached resolution establishing the revised 2008-09 user fee schedule for Engineering Department.
