Title of Agenda Item: Acceptance of Orange County Arts Commission FY2008-2009 Arts Project Grant Funds
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information on the Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) funds that were awarded in support of the special Our Stories, In Focus community art project to the Office of Public Arts.
Fiscal Note: The Town would receive a Grant Award in the amount of $1,500 to partially support the cost of the Our Stories, In Focus project. The award was the maximum allowable for project grants through the OCAC (attachment 1). The required Matching funds for the project are earmarked within the Office of Public Arts 2008-09 Operations and Program budget. Other funding is expected from the Carolina Union and the Carrboro Arts Commission.
Staff Recommendation(s): That the Council adopt the attached resolution (attachment 2) authorizing the acceptance of the OCAC project grant funds and that the Council enact the attached budget ordinance amendment appropriating the OCAC grant funds.
