Title of Agenda Item: Enactment of Ordinance for Two-Hour Metered Parking Spaces on West
Franklin Street between Mallette Street and Columbia Street
Background: The attached staff memorandum includes background information regarding establishment of two-hour metered parking spaces on the south side of West Franklin Street between Mallette Street and Columbia Street. This is part of the plan approved by the Council for replacement of public parking due to the construction in Lot 5.
Fiscal Note: We anticipate the cost of adding parking meters would be about $6,000, plus incidental costs of striping. Anticipated revenues are estimated to be about $20,000 per year. The Town Council approved a budget amendment for this expenditure and revenue at their November 24, 2008 meeting.
Staff Recommendation(s): We recommend that the Council enact the attached ordinance that would establish two-hour metered parking spaces on south side of West Franklin Street between Mallette Street and Columbia Street.
