Title of Agenda Item: Award Contract for Burning Tree Drive Drainage Improvements Project. (R-3)

Council Goal 4: Maintain and Improve Community Facilities and Services.

Background: Several properties at the intersection of Pinehurst and Burning Tree Drives have experienced localized flooding and drainage problems. The award of this contract will result in the construction of drainage infrastructure along Pinehurst Drive, which will divert a significant amount of runoff from recent upstream development away from the affected properties.

Fiscal Note: The total project cost is $554,314 (bid plus contingencies) and will be funded by the Stormwater Utility Fund.

Recommendations: That the Council adopt a resolution authorizing the Town Manager to negotiate and execute a contract with Hannah Utilities, Inc. in the amount of $509,062.50 for the construction of the Burning Tree Drive Drainage Improvements Project and to approve change orders not to exceed the total project cost of $554,314.00 without further Council action.
