SUBJECT:       Horace Williams Property Rezoning Update

I received the attached letter from Chancellor Moeser regarding the Horace Williams property rezoning proposal.  In the letter, the Chancellor states his proposal to withdraw the University’s protest of the proposed rezoning, provided the Council rezones the Horace Williams property to OI-2 as a holding zone and indicates its willingness to work with the University at the appropriate time to develop new zoning.  I recommend that the Town Council favorably consider this request

A RESOLUTION INDICATING A DESIRE TO WORK WITH THE UNIVERSITY TO DEVELOP AN APPROPRIATE ZONING FOR THE FUTURE DEVELOPMENT OF THE HORACE WILLIAMS PROPERTY (2005-04-25/R-10.1)

 

WHEREAS the Town Council has received a letter from Chancellor Moeser stating the University’s proposal to withdraw the University’s protest of the proposed rezoning, provided the Council rezones the Horace Williams property to OI-2 as a holding zone and indicates its willingness to work with the University at the appropriate time to develop new zoning; and,

 

WHEREAS the Council has voted on the zoning matter and established the zoning that it believes reasonable as a holding zone;

 

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Council hereby indicates its willingness to work with the University at the appropriate time to develop new zoning for the future development of the Horace Williams property.
