SUBJECT:       Ordinance Establishing a Position Classification and Pay Plan, Effective

                        November 1, 2001

The attached ordinance would establish the Classification and Pay Plan effective November 1, 2001 reflecting salary increases for Town employees adopted with the Fiscal Year 2001-2002 budget.

 

DISCUSSION

 

The Council approved a budget for the new fiscal year on June 25th that included funds for Town employee salary increases.  The attached ordinance reflects a 1.5% increase to the salary schedule rates in the July 1, 2001 ordinance. 

 

As approved by the Council, employee salary increases would be implemented as follows:

 

·     salaries of employees below the Job Rate will be increased to the next step in the salary range

 

·     salaries of employees at or above the Job Rate will be increased an average of 4.5%, with the amount varying based on the performance rating

 

 

RECOMMENDATION

 

That the Council approve the attached ordinance, effective November 1, 2001.
